About the Program

What sets our Communication Program Apart from the Others?

Individual and Small Group Instruction The University of Evansville's department of communication focuses on each individual student. No student becomes merely a face in the crowd or just another number. Our students enjoy small student-faculty ratios in our classrooms and plenty of individual assistance and instruction from professors, not teaching assistants.

Practical Application
Communication department faculty members possess extensive practical experience in their respective fields, and emphasize hands-on, real-world experience. Students complete assignments that, at the very least, resemble those they'll face in work situations.

Often students create materials which are subject to professional standards. They produce videos, deliver speeches, develop ad campaigns, build web sites, and publish articles and other materials.

Practical experiences are not limited to the classroom. Underclassmen begin acquiring real-world skills early through practica, often with the university's radio station, WUEV, the student newspaper, The Crescent, or the campus yearbook, The LinC. Upperclassmen can participate in the development of their own explorative independent study courses. Students can participate in a variety of stimulating professional internships with local, regional, national and international organizations.
